IMPORTANT UPDATE

The reception will be held at the Cambridge Marriott Hotel, in Kendall Square, and not at Legal Sea Foods as previously announced. The reception will begin with a cocktail hour from ~ 19:30-20:30 in the foyer outside the Grand Ballroom (where the dinner will be held), on the second floor. Expect dinner to be served beginning at ~ 21:00.

Complimentary parking (for up to six hours) will be provided by the Cambridge Marriott for people attending this reception. This FREE parking is available at the Kinney Self-Park garage (not valet parking) to the right of the Broadway entrance to the Cambridge Marriott.

If you're staying at the Cambridge Marriott or Lexington Holiday Inn, you should specify that you're attending the Guanco/Lum wedding. There are a limited number of discounted rooms available in the Cambridge Marriott and a special $79/night group rate available at the Lexington Holiday Inn.

Travel Information

TO GET FROM NEW YORK TO CAMBRIDGE:

By plane: Take airplane to Logan Airport (round-trip fare ~ $175), FREE Massport shuttle bus to "Airport" subway station, blue line subway inbound to Government Center, green line subway to Park Street, and Alewife bound red line subway to either Kendall or Harvard Squares.

By train: Take Amtrak train to South Station (round-trip fare ~ $100) and Alewife bound red line subway to either Kendall or Harvard Squares.

By bus: Take Greyhound or Peter Pan bus to South Station (round-trip fare ~ $60) and Alewife bound red line subway to either Kendall or Harvard Squares.

By car: Either (easy to remember route) take I-95 north and I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) east or (alternate, better route) take Hutchinson River Parkway north, Merritt Parkway (CT-15) east, I-91 north, and I-90 east. As you enter the Boston area on I-90, look for signs directing you to Cambridge. Take the River Street Bridge into Cambridge. After crossing the bridge, continue eastward on River Street for about a mile. You'll merge with Western Avenue and shortly afterward reach the intersection of Western and Massachusetts Avenues (Central Square). To get to Kendall Square: Make a right turn at Mass. Ave. After travelling about 1/4 mile down Mass. Ave., veer left onto Main Street (where you'll see the Shell gas station) and proceed about 1 mile to Kendall square, where the Legal Sea Foods restaurant and Marriott Hotel will be to your left. To get to Harvard Square: Make a left turn at Mass. Ave. and follow Mass. Ave. to Harvard Square, where you'll see the Out of Town News stand.

TO GET FROM KENDALL SQUARE TO ST. PETER'S CHURCH:

By subway/bus: Take Alewife bound red line subway to Harvard Square. At Harvard station, walk toward exit near rear of train. After exiting through turnstiles, turn right and walk up ramp toward 72/74/75 (i.e., any of the three) bus stop. Take 72/74/75 bus (fare 60 cents) up Concord Avenue to St. Peter's Church, which is on the left side and about 1 mile from Harvard Square. You can also walk to St. Peter's Church from Harvard Square.

By car: Drive west (away from Charles River) on Main Street. Make a right turn at Massachusetts Avenue. Drive north on Mass. Ave. to Harvard Square. When you pass Harvard Square (Out of Town News) and reach the fork in the road, go left and follow the sign directing you to "Arlington/Mass. Ave. North" (right lane). Continue ~ 1/2 mile north on Mass. Ave. Make a left turn at Linnaean Street (Brooks Pharmacy on left). Follow Linnaean Street until it intersects with Garden Street. Continue across Garden Street, enter the parking lot of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, drive past the buildings, and you'll see St. Peter's Church on your left. Drive out the parking lot exit on the right and proceed approximately straight ahead onto Holly Avenue. Drive one block down and make a left turn at Huron Avenue. Drive one block down and make a left turn at Concord Avenue. Park in the St. Peter's parking lot on Concord Avenue, about one block south of Huron Avenue, or on nearby streets (check parking signs) if necessary.

PARKING IS AVAILABLE IN THE ST. PETER'S PARKING LOT ON CONCORD AVENUE, ONE BLOCK NORTH OF THE CHURCH.


TO GET FROM ST. PETER'S CHURCH TO KENDALL SQUARE:

By subway/bus: Take the 72/74/75 bus down Concord Avenue to Harvard Square. Take the inbound (Ashmont or Braintree bound) red line subway to Kendall Square. Use subway exit near rear of train. The Marriott Hotel will be across Main Street.

By car: Drive south on Concord Avenue, towards Harvard Square. When you reach Harvard Square (Out of Town News), veer right onto Brattle Street. Stay in the left lane and make the next left turn onto Mt. Auburn Street. Follow Mt. Auburn Street until it merges into the southbound side of Mass. Ave. Drive ~ 3/4 mile down Mass. Ave., veer left onto Main Street (Shell gas station), and proceed ~ 1 mile to Kendall Square, where you'll see Legal Sea Foods and the Marriott Hotel on your left.

Boston Harbor Islands. Visit the famous Boston Harbor Islands, "one of our regions most precious natural treasures." See historic Fort Warren on Georges Island, and take a free water taxi to the other islands. Tel: 617-227-4321.
Boston Common/Public Gardens. Many exotic tropical and non-tropical plants; swan boat rides in lake.
Boston Duck Tours. Tours of Boston on a vehicle which can travel on land or in water. Part of the the tour is a ride in the Charles River, which separates Boston and Cambridge. Tel: 617-723-3825.
Hancock Building. The tallest building in New England; provides views of Boston area from observation level; located near the Copley green line subway stop. Tel: 617-247-1977.
Museum of Science. Located at the Science Park green line subway stop. Features many interesting science exhibits, IMAX movie theater, planetarium, and gift shop. Tel: 617-723-2500.
New England Aquarium. Located at the Aquarium blue line subway stop. Features many interesting aquatic exhibits, sea lion show, and gift shop. Tel: 617-973-5200.
